A patient with a broken leg at Ipswich Hospital had their operation cancelled because there were not enough sterile kits to perform surgery.
December is a busy time for hospitals generally with seasonal illness, increase in Covid cases and general slips and falls. Sterile services are under even more pressure during this time to manage stock and process kits.
